The Community Development Committee has recently made recommendations to the City Council for new lighting in the downtown area. The first area is on 6th Avenue from Holly Street to Front Street. The second area is on Greenwood Street from 5th Avenue to 7th Avenue. These lights are all solar powered. This will provide more flexibility for installation options for the City without having to dig up sidewalks downtown. Also as a part of this project, the City will be improving the lighting in City-owned parking lots downtown. It is anticipated that this project will cost $22,000 and be performed by staff.
